Prayer For The Media (27 Apr)
Sing: The More We See
Scripture: Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To actjustly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
Search your heart and pray as the Spirit leads
Almighty God, You are the Way, the Truth and the Life. These days, we have been constantly bombarded by news through various media platforms on the world’s ways, truths and lives.
We want to specifically uphold the media at this point. Media is the language of our culture, and it carries a lot of social responsibility. Therefore, we pray for the journalists, the speakers and writers of all kinds using various media platforms to learn to convey the right message. Would You please anoint their lips and hands to speak and write while they are committed to provide up-to-date information? Would You direct their minds and hearts, as they use any media tool, to stay humble and wise enough not to exploit it to advance selfish agendas. Help especially every child of Yours to live the Micah 6:8 life, which is “to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly” with You, Lord.
At the same time, would You also please impress upon these media speakers or writers to care for the audience more than for their message? Stir their hearts and minds to first pause, listen, and feel the emotion or heartbeat of what truly matters to the audience. Give them the right perspectives to present the facts and truths. During this critical time of need, we ask that Your light may weave Your Way, Your Truth and Your Life into their words when presented through media, such that hope is eminent and shall accomplish Your purposes to set the audience free instead of being bound to fear. Let also the words, through the media, promote peace, understanding and unity among the nations and races.
We pray for overall protection of cyber security on any online platform. We need Your powerful defense to prevent attacks on computers, such as viruses or outages of any kind. Let no evil fulfill its intention here.
Like Hezekiah in Isaiah 39:8, we hope to end this prayer with the promise that “The Word of the Lord You have spoken is good….there will be peace and security in my lifetime”. So speak, O Lord, through the media of this time, especially in this season when the whole world desperately needs to know Your saving grace and return to You. We pray this in Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen.
