From A Shepherd’s Heart
By Ps Jabez Chia
As we maintain a prayerful heart, let’s hear from one of our pastors today and reflect on God’s Word from them.
Cover Your Heart
Lord, today, help us in our weaknesses to know Your heart for this world, for the church and for us. You are the Lord who turns the hearts of children to their parents, and parents to their children during this season. May you also steer our hearts to Yours and to the things above. Amen.
How is your heart doing, my friend? Have you been treating it well? Some of us may have unwittingly allowed distraction and disturbance to enter by the front and back doors of our hearts. There may have been an assault or two that our heart were ill-prepared for. No wonder we feel frustrated, defeated and anxious. Now that we are at home and cannot retreat any further, why not linger in God’s presence and spend time with God? Perhaps in these quieter moments, our hearts can experience tender love and cleansing from our Shepherd. Jesus is still guiding us and providing for us. May I encourage you to let the Spirit of God steer our hearts?
Say these verses as a prayer:
I am under vows to you, O God; I will present my thank offerings to you. For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life. ( Psalm 56:12-13)
Let us also present our hearts to God in song:
Contemplate: Today, is there something in my heart that I need to place at the altar of God? What shall stop me from knowing His heart?
Let us join the Messianic Jews in acknowledging the salvation (yeshuah) we received from Jesus – He desires to hear our hearts burst forth with praise and thanksgiving. This video comes with English lyrics and is clearer if you view it on a laptop or similar device:
