Search your heart and pray as the Spirit leads
Merciful Father, Your love is infinite. You know everything about us, the pleasures and burdens of our heart.
We commit the schools and children into Your loving hands today. We pray for all the schools as they go through this period of uncertainty, that the teachers will guide their students calmly and in trusting dependence on You through this time. We ask that You hold their hands, guiding them as they try to figure out the days ahead. Keep their minds and eyes on what is truly essential. We seek Your peace to dispel all fears and anxieties from the teachers who may be feeling inadequate or restless. We pray specifically for the teachers of the cohorts who are going to sit for PSLE. Please help them to be mindful not to transfer their worries to the children. Help them see the good in every child so that they themselves will be encouraged and stay positive.
For the children, Lord, some may need extra help. In their home-based learning, they may feel helpless or scared. Please provide an extra portion of patience and tolerance through their friends and teachers so that they do not feel left out or forgotten. For those children who feel isolated due to lack of social interaction, please help them feel connected as they hear the voices of their friends through the online platform. For the strong, we pray that their confidence remain and that they will use their strengths to assist others. For the weak, we pray that their spirits will be lifted up as they receive grace and kindness pouring from their teachers and friends.
We pray that there will be good rest and renewed energy as the school holidays begin. Even though no one is able to travel during this holiday, we ask for windows of opportunity to inspire the children to love themselves and others; and to pause and really appreciate their family, friends and teachers as they recall their time spent together.
Although we are experiencing this Circuit Breaker barrier, we can take comfort that there is no barrier with You. As You bring Your people from near and far to reach out to the lost, anxious, confused, troubled or bored ones through creative ways, help the schools and children to recognise Your love which transcends all space and time. Let them taste Your goodness and know that You are God. In Jesus’ sweetest name we pray, amen.
