Prayer For F&B Workers (22 May)
Sing: Goodness of God
Scripture: 1 Tim 6:17
Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

Heavenly Father, You are our Advocate, our eternal help.
So many parties and people are affected in this pandemic season. Their indescribable pain and sufferings only You know. We come before Your throne today to place this group of people in Your hands – we pray and ask for Your special grace to be upon the people in food & beverage businesses, supermarkets, markets, hawkers, neighborhood businesses, pop-up stalls etc. Their livelihood has been vastly impacted since the pandemic began.
Would You please come and sustain them? While in their distressing wait, would You show them alternative routes, discovery of strengths and unexpected miracles so that this will become a springboard for them to move forward? For those who are not able to keep their businesses, would You please provide new resources for them so that they can be delivered from any debt? May this be a time when many will catch a glimpse of You.
We ask for Your guidance whenever wise decisions need to be made. Cover them with Your mighty protection from further losses, evil plots, or impulsive acts. Please pursue them with Your goodness, uphold their integrity to remain honest despite the challenges, and keep them away from temptations of deceit and corruption.
As for consumers like us, may we be mindful of these business’ services. Help us to be gracious and kind with every opportunity. Through this trial, we hope to see the strong helping the weak; the rich extending help to the poor; we pray for unity to cut across all races and social lines. Help us be gracious to support in whatever way we can…to encourage them, to be courteous and thoughtful even to bring our own bags and containers to aid the depleting supply as production slows down. As we support them in simple ways, we also care for the environment.
Finally, may Your Word that says “..those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.” reminds us that our true wealth and security comes only from You. May Your Word also serve as a reminder for all that You are – the Spiritual Food above all our physical needs, this is where we get our true source of peace and contentment. Thank You for being our permanent Advocate, who does not abandon us at any time. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
