OASIS Ministry

OASIS is a new ministry that was launched on 18th February 2017

The acronym OASIS is selected as the name for the Seniors Ministry of our church.
It stands for “Older Adults Sharing, Inspiring and Serving “

The logo of OASIS depicts a tree growing besides refreshing waters.

This logo ties in with our anchor Bible verse from Psalm 92:14 :
They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green.

OASIS’s tag Line is “Grow and Glow in Christ “

The purpose of the ministry is to encourage our seniors to grow in their Christian lives and to be a blessing to others.

It seeks to provide a bonding fellowship time for seniors 55 and above.

They may be Carmelites, regular worshippers, family members and friends.

The main activity is the OASIS monthly fellowship that meets on the third Saturday of every month from 10 – 12 noon followed by lunch and optional creative fun and games activities.

There is usually a theme and topic that is holistic in nature e.g. addressing the spiritual, physical, emotional / mental and financial needs of mature adults.

There are also special interests groups formed for those interested- ukulele, line dancing, origami, colouring art, nature walks, pickle ball and others.

We also organise outings, trips and retreats for a time of relaxation, enjoyment, bonding and reflection.

For men interested in Bible study and small group fellowship over meals and outings there is a ‘Thursday Men’s Group’ (TMG).
TMG meets fortnightly at 10am in church.

We welcome all seniors to join us in our various programmes and activities
